The International Cooperation Educational Center for Student and Veterinary Practice is a unique educational and practical institution created to enhance the professional level of prospective and practicing veterinary medicine specialists. 

The main feature of the Center is the opportunity to intern at veterinary zoos, where students and young professionals, under the guidance of experienced mentors, participate in animal treatment, diagnostic procedures, and preventive measures. Special attention is given to practical training: from caring for domestic and farm animals to working with exotic species.

This is a place where theory meets practice, and young specialists gain invaluable experience in real clinical conditions.

Thanks to the professionalism of the team, modern equipment, and openness to innovation, the International Practice Center is a leading hub for training the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Ecological and Veterinary Center of the Odessa International Academy

The Ecological and Veterinary Center of Odessa International Academy is a modern scientific and educational space created to combine ecological education, veterinary practice, and nature conservation activities. The center serves as a platform for student learning, conducting scientific research, and implementing initiatives aimed at preserving the environment and animal welfare.

The uniqueness of the Center lies in its interdisciplinary approach: here future specialists not only gain in-depth knowledge in veterinary medicine but also study principles of sustainable development, environmental protection, and bioethics. 

The Ecological and Veterinary Center of OMA is a place where a new generation of veterinarians and ecologists is being formed, capable of acting responsibly amidst contemporary challenges, preserving animal health and harmony with nature.

Odessa Zoo Amazon

Odessa Zoo "Amazon" is a private petting zoo located in Odessa, which has become a popular place for family leisure and acquaintance with animals from around the world. Its main feature is the opportunity for direct interaction with many residents: animals can be fed, petted, and photographed.

The zoo opened in 2016 and quickly gained popularity due to its friendly atmosphere and wide variety of animals. Over 100 species of animals are presented here: lemurs, raccoons, kangaroos, monkeys, peacocks, flamingos, ponies, meerkats, parrots, and many others. Significant attention is paid to comfortable living conditions — animals live in spacious enclosures and are under constant veterinary care.

Separately, special zones have been created in "Amazon" for the youngest visitors — mini-farms where children can get acquainted with domestic animals such as rabbits, goats, sheep, and chickens. Educational events, workshops, and themed celebrations are also regularly held.

Odessa Zoo "Amazon" operates daily, providing comfortable relaxation regardless of the season. The spacious area, friendly staff, and the possibility of close contact with nature make this place one of the favorite leisure spots for residents and guests of Odessa.

Odessa Zoo

Odesa Zoo — one of Ukraine's oldest zoos, located in the center of Odesa at Novoshchepny Ryad, 25. It is not only a place for relaxation but also an important scientific research and cultural-educational institution, which is part of Ukraine's national nature reserve fund.

The idea of creating a zoo in Odesa emerged back in 1889, but it was only realized in 1922. Initially, the zoo did not have a permanent location, but since 1937 it has been situated on its current territory. Heinrich Beisert played a vital role in the creation of the zoo, contributing significantly to its organization.

Today, Odesa Zoo is home to about 1900 animals of various species. Among the most famous residents are white lions Mufasa and Nola, evacuated from Kharkiv during the war, as well as numerous parrot species, including ring-necked parakeets, African greys, monk parakeets, and lovebirds. The zoo has also become a refuge for animals rescued after the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station.

In 2020, a major reconstruction began at the zoo: a new entrance with an archway, a pond, and a spacious plaza were created. During the war, work was temporarily halted, but thanks to sponsors' support, the enclosures for lions, baboons were updated, and new green zones were arranged.

Odesa Bio Park

Odesa Biopark is a modern zoo of a new format, located on the northwestern outskirts of Odesa. It is not only a space for family recreation but also a hub for animal protection, educational, and scientific activities. The Biopark stands out with its unique concept - creating conditions as close as possible to the natural environment of animals.

Odesa Biopark opened in 2020 on the grounds of the old 'Dufu' zoo. Its founders are a team of enthusiasts and animal advocates who aimed to create a new standard for the care of wild animals in Ukraine. The Biopark's territory is divided into thematic zones, including an African safari, savanna, petting zoo, and an area for rare species.

Currently, the Biopark is home to over 1200 animals of more than 120 species. Among them are lions, tigers, cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, lemurs, kangaroos, camels, and many others. The uniqueness of the facility lies in its large open enclosures, where animals have the opportunity to move freely, promoting their physical and psychological well-being. Special attention is paid by the Biopark to conservation programs for endangered species and environmental education of visitors.

 

City of Kyiv

Kyiv Zoo

Kyiv Zoo is one of the oldest and largest zoos in Ukraine, located in the Shevchenkivskyi district of the capital. It is not just a place for leisure but also an important scientific, educational, and conservation center.

The official date of the zoo's founding is considered to be March 21, 1909. It was created by members of the Kyiv Society of Nature Lovers, which included teachers, doctors, and public figures. Initially, the zoo was located on the territory of the Botanical Garden of the University of St. Vladimir. In 1913, it moved to its current address — 32 Peremohy Avenue .

Today, the zoo is home to about 3,400 animals of over 300 species. Among them are African lions, tigers, zebras, elephants, giraffes, llamas, alpacas, bears, bison, macaques, capuchins, and the only gorilla in Ukraine named Tony, who celebrated his 50th birthday in 2023 . The bird collection includes flamingos, owls, cranes, parrots, ostriches, and others.

City of Mykolaiv

Mykolaiv Zoo

Mykolaiv Zoo — one of the oldest and largest zoos in Ukraine, founded in 1901 thanks to the initiative of the then-mayor Mykola Leontovych. The zoo is located in the center of Mykolaiv and occupies an area of over 18 hectares. Throughout its history, the institution has never ceased operation, even during periods of military conflict.

Today, the zoo is home to over 3,200 animals representing more than 430 species. Among the residents are Indian elephants, Rothschild giraffes, Amur tigers, polar bears, snow leopards, tapirs, gibbons, siamangs, and bustards. Special attention is given to rare and endangered species. Mykolaiv Zoo actively participates in international animal breeding programs and closely cooperates with many zoos worldwide.

Thematic zones have been created on the territory: "Ukrainian Safari" with giraffes and elephants, the contact zone "Grandfather's Hut" styled as a Ukrainian village, as well as the landscape composition "At the Junction of Two Cultures" combining Greek and Japanese motifs. The zoo also houses a museum of zoo history, preserving the founder's personal belongings and other memorabilia.

Mykolaiv Zoo is open daily from 9:00 to 17:00, with ticket offices closing at 16:00.

 

City of Kharkiv

Kharkiv Zoo

Kharkiv Zoo is the oldest zoo in Ukraine, founded in 1895. It is located in the center of Kharkiv, in Shevchenko Garden on Sumskaya Street, 35. The zoo occupies an area of 22 hectares and is part of Ukraine's national nature reserve fund.

The history of the zoo began with the initiative of Professor Oleksandr Brandt, who in 1895 organized an exhibition of domestic animals and birds. Over time, the collection expanded: wild animals and an aquarium with tropical species were added. In 1903, the zoo officially opened its doors to visitors. Throughout its existence, the institution has gone through difficult times, including two world wars, but each time it was revived and developed.

In 2016, a large-scale reconstruction of the zoo began in accordance with modern European standards. The work took several years and involved a complete renovation of the infrastructure, the creation of large enclosures, landscape areas, and thematic territories. Part of the renewed zoo was opened in 2021, and since then it has become one of Kharkiv's main tourist attractions.

City of Rivne

Rivne Zoo

Rivne Zoo — one of the youngest and most dynamic zoos in Ukraine, located in Rivne city on Kyivska Street, 110. It was founded in 1982 on the initiative of the Rivne regional organization of the Ukrainian Society for Nature Conservation. The zoo has become an important center for ecological education and nature conservation work in the region.

The first inhabitants of the zoo were wild boars, wolves, foxes, and an elk, brought from the region's forest farms. Later, the collection was supplemented by other species, including a brown bear. Between 1985 and 1988, the construction of new enclosures, artificial reservoirs, an aquaterrarium, and administrative buildings was actively carried out. In 1998, Rivne Zoo received the status of a national nature reserve object of Ukraine.

Today, the zoo houses over 200 species of animals from different parts of the world. Among them are lions, tigers, bears, monkeys, crocodiles, camels, zebras, and other exotic and native fauna representatives. The exposition is organized according to a zoogeographical principle, allowing visitors to travel through different regions of the planet: African Savannah, Australia, Patagonia, and others.

 

City of Cherkasy

Cherkasy Zoo

Cherkasy Zoo — one of the most modern zoos in Ukraine, located in the city of Cherkasy on Smilyanska Street, 132. It was founded on May 1, 1979, on the basis of a small zoo corner of a station for young naturalists. Since then, the zoo has become an important center for regional conservation, educational, and scientific research activities.

The zoo occupies an area of over 4 hectares and houses more than 270 species of animals from various continents. Special attention is paid to species characteristic of the forest and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine, as well as exotic terrarium representatives. Among the zoo's inhabitants are Amur tigers, brown bears, wolves, otters, llamas, bison, pelicans, lemurs, baboons, fennecs, ostriches, and others.

In 2017, a large modern complex called "Land of Bears and Wolves" was opened, built according to the latest European standards. This exhibition allows observation of the animals at different levels, bringing visitors closer to the natural conditions of their existence.

Mena, Chernihiv region

Mena Zoo

Mena Zoo — the only zoo in Ukraine located in a district center, in the city of Mena, Chernihiv region. It is one of the most unusual and atmospheric zoological parks in the country, having the status of national importance.

The zoo was founded on November 8, 1975, on the initiative of local enthusiast Gennady Polosmak, who began collecting animals in his own yard. He was supported by local authorities and the community. In 1983, the zoo was officially granted the status of an object of national importance.

On an area of over 9 hectares, there are more than 560 animals representing about 120 different species. Among them are rare species listed in the International Red Book. Visitors can see tigers, lions, brown bears, bison, nilgai antelopes, camels, monkeys, pythons, parrots, and other exotic and local animals. Particularly popular are the resident monkeys Vasyl and Nina.

Vinnytsia

Podilsky Zoo

Podilskiy Zoo is one of the youngest zoos in Ukraine, located in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi region. It's a cozy place for family recreation, as well as a center for ecological education and wildlife conservation.

The zoo was established in 2012 as a municipal institution aimed at preserving various species of animals, particularly those in need of protection. In a short time, Podilskiy Zoo has become a popular place among locals and tourists.

Currently, the zoo is home to over 400 animals belonging to more than 70 species. Here, you can see camels, ponies, raccoons, fallow deer, wolves, lynxes, peacocks, ostriches, swans, and many other representatives of the fauna. The zoo actively engages in educational activities, conducts tours, and events for children aimed at fostering a caring attitude towards nature.

 

v. Demydiv, Kyiv region

Zoo “XII Months”

The "XII Months" Zoo is a modern private zoo located in the village of Demydiv, Vyshgorod district, Kyiv region, approximately 25 km from Kyiv. Opened on May 16, 2015, it has become one of the largest zoos in Ukraine operating year-round.

The zoo covers an area of over 16 hectares and holds more than 200 animals of about 100 different species from all corners of the world. Among its residents are Ukraine's only white rhinoceros, Archibald, giraffes, white lions, Bengal tigers, Kamchatka bears, orangutans, hyenas, alpacas, capybaras, aardvarks, flamingos, and many others. Some animals were rescued from circuses or evacuated from dangerous regions, including Donbas.

The zoo is distinguished by humane conditions for animal care: spacious enclosures, personalized care, qualified veterinarians and zoologists. The territory also features a petting zoo, children's playgrounds, a medieval castle-style restaurant, and a decorative lake with a fountain.

 

Berdyansk

Berdyansk Zoo "Safari"

The Berdyansk Zoo "Safari" is one of the most famous private zoos in Ukraine, located in the city of Berdyansk, Zaporizhia region. It was founded in 2004 by entrepreneur Igor Kalchenko and became the second private zoo in the country.

At the beginning of its activity, the zoo had an area of 1.7 hectares and a collection of thirty species of animals, including those listed in the Red Book. Later, the area was expanded to 2.5 hectares, creating comfortable conditions for over 130 representatives of exotic fauna.

Among the zoo's inhabitants are African lions, Amur leopards, Siberian wolves, raccoons, agoutis, macaques, porcupines, camels, Ussuri tigers, fallow deer, and others. The zoo actively engages in breeding rare animals: more than 50 lion cubs and six Amur leopards have been born here, making a significant contribution to the preservation of the species.

Lutsk

Lutsk Zoo

Lutsk Zoo is a modern municipal zoo located in the central park of culture and recreation named after Lesia Ukrainka in the city of Lutsk, Volyn region. Its history began back in 1979, and over the decades it has become one of the coziest and most well-equipped zoos in Western Ukraine.

After a major renovation in 2016, Lutsk Zoo was revitalized: the territory was expanded to almost 4 hectares, and the enclosures were updated to meet modern animal husbandry standards. The zoo is actively developing as a space for environmental education, biodiversity conservation, and family recreation.

Today, the zoo is home to over 100 species of animals, including brown bears, lynxes, wolves, deer, llamas, raccoons, pheasants, owls, tortoises, monkeys, and other fauna representatives. Some of them are listed in the Red Book of Ukraine and international conservation lists. The zoo also actively participates in animal exchange programs and rare species conservation.

 

v. Lisne, Kharkiv region

Feldman Ecopark

Feldman Ecopark is a unique social and humanitarian multicomplex located in the village of Lisne near Kharkiv. Founded in 2013 by the Alexander Feldman Foundation, it combines the functions of a zoo, rehabilitation center, educational hub, and space for family recreation.

On an area of about 140 hectares, before the start of the war, it housed over 2000 animals of about 200 species, including lions, tigers, bears, wolves, monkeys, alpacas, deer, birds, and other exotic and rare representatives of fauna. Key elements of the ecopark included a petting zoo, a bat rehabilitation center, an equestrian club, and a large children's entertainment area.

From the beginning, Feldman Ecopark was oriented towards openness and accessibility: admission for visitors was always free. The park was also actively involved in inclusive and social projects, ecological education of youth, and support for people with special needs.

Ternopil

Sopilche Park

Park "Sopilche" is one of the most picturesque places in Ternopil, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a world of nature and relaxation. Among its green alleys and quiet paths lies a true gem — the zoo corner, where you can see over 70 different animals and birds.

It is the ideal place for a family vacation, as it houses both well-known and rare animals: mouflons, decorative rabbits, deer, peacocks, and many others. Visitors can observe their lives up close, learn interesting facts about animal behavior, and even see newborn residents — for example, this year two little mouflons and three lambs were born here.

Park "Sopilche" is not only about walking amidst nature but also about getting acquainted with the amazing world of animals, feeling the joy of interacting with them, and spending unforgettable moments with family.
